after they started crawling and pulling self to a standing position. Also, how did you deal with hard wood floor once baby was crawling?? Anyone have any suggestions on what to buy, My son is 6.5 months old now and has finally mastered crawling after 2 wks of lunging !!!its soooo cute

My son started crawling properly at about 9 months and was pulling to stand 2 weeks later... He started cruising right around 10 months and did that for a while... He started fully walking about a week after his first birthday.
We have all hardwood in our house and we didnt' take any special precautions for it.... Our son has never fallen and hit his head on the floor... when he loses his balance he just sits down and falls on his bottom.
We have a numbers and letters play mat in his play area but we didn't do anything special to the rest of the house.
I suppose you could buy large area rugs, but I don't think its necessary.
