I'm re-doing my bedroom and painting the nasty, childish green walls a cool gray colour (light-ish). I'm putting in laminate floors and am planning on putting a cream/tan area rug on the floor. All little details aside, I was wondering if I should get an accent wall or not and which colour? Would it go behind my bed or on the opposite wall?
If you are going to do the accent wall I would do it on the wall behind the bed. However, let me say that I think accent walls (since they are usually dark or bold colors) tend to make a space look smaller. So I would suggest you use your bold color touches in your room accessories. For example, you could do a bold solid colored comforter (with more color touches in the pillows) or a tall fabric covered headboard in a bold color. Colors I would recommend with your otherwise neutral room would all be rich, deep shades - wine, dark purple, burnt orange, dark teal, etc.
