What do you think of Buddha's view on life?
I am not a buddhist, but when reading the Buddhist Dharmapada I read this about what Buddha had to say,
' The only way to prevent suffering and sorrow is to prevent the cycle of birth'
Now while most of you may brand Buddha as a pessimist, dont you think that Buddha had the wisdom of understanding things from a distance , something that most people lack? Buddha understood the meaningless nature of life and suffering and had the wisdom to speak out right?
In the same way when i look at the meaningless nature of life , I have learned to admire Buddha as a very intelligent and humane figure who used Philosophical methods to drive a message into the human conscience
What do you think?
With his Four Noble Truths and his Eightfold Path, I don't think the Buddha found the nature of life meaningless. After all, he spent a great deal of his life in search of truth and after he found enlightenment, he spent the rest of his life teaching others. Without saying it directly, rather through his example, the Buddha shows us that life has great meaning and purpose. The Buddha loved humanity deeply and suffered greatly to find truth and to help others find it to end suffering. The search for truth, awakening, and enlightenment is paramount. We must back it up with good deeds.
