Genuine violin players please help???
How much is your violin(s) worth in british pounds???
Just joined an orchestra in the 1st violins section, am doing grade 8, & they all seemed to have better instruments than me! I have a new Chinese violin, it's about a year old, and cost me £550. Is this the average price of a grade 8 instrument or not? I know antiques are favoured. It sounds ok, but I want to know if I need a new one before I take my exam next summer...
I have a wonderful antique that was my grandfather's... I can't remember who made it, but it is over 200 years old... Of course, I didn't pay anything for it, but it's worth somewhere around $2000. So, I'd say that you did well in pounds. Kind of pricy for a new one, but it will do you well.
