It is a very beautiful hand-carved showcase, and with phenix on top of the showcase, and dragons and chinese traditional flowers underneath. It has such a craftsmanship. The dealer told me that he sold this piece 30 years ago and bought it back when the people passed away recently. I was wondering that it belonged to the special period in the Tand dynasty, which the female king ruled China in that period. I was also wondering that it was a royal piece because the phenix, dragons, fudog and beast legs. I would like to know more about this piece, period, is it real one? Is anyone interested in it , I can send some pictures.
It would be (second) Zhou dynasty if you are talking about the Empress Wu? She is sandwiched in between Tang dynasties. If your piece is from that period it would be 1300 yr old dynamite on the antiques scene.
If it is Tang and original, you have got a piece of furniture over a thousand years old from Imperial China and from the one of their most rich periods of time. I would suggest spending some more money on an expert opinion. These things are virtually priceless, I have only seen such things in the Shanghai Museum.
