Kanji: A Unique Asian Gallery

Kanji is located in the Northern California Wine Country town of Petaluma, where you will find an unusual collection of Asian Art, furniture, and home accessories. Owners Charles Lindauer and Dezi Koster have between then almost 40 years of experience traveling and buying all over Asia. They created a unique gallery, with fine antique furniture from China and Japan, antique artifacts from nearly every part of Asia, and a wonderful collection of home accessories, including lamps, dinnerware, ceramics, silk yardage and bedding. Their passion for Asian textiles shows clearly in the silk shawls and scarfs from Laos and Vietnam, the Indian saris of silk and gold thread, beaded with gold and pearls, the Cambodian silk pillows, bedding and yardage, and their collection of Indonesian Ikat textiles from Bali, Sumba, Sumatra, Flores, Savu and Timor.

Kanji also has large architectural pieces, including a teak entrance door from a palace in central Java, an octagonal garden gate from southern China with ice-ray lattice, tall Chinese doors, a set of 12 carved and painted panels from China, 120" tall by 18 feet and a mirror set into a doorway from China, with a carved panel above.

Please join us in our spacious uncluttered showroom. Dezi puts her considerable talents to good use to provide a beautiful environment that will help you to realize the ability of Asian art and funiture to blend and add to your existing decor.

Kanji welcomes architects and designers.
